BIO

Abdul Hakiim is a Singaporean music producer. He is a sandbox of curiosity. Knowing he has the power to turn an idea into something tangible no matter how absurd, he sets on a mission to cover all that music has to offer. Having performed at festivals like Singapore International Festival of the Arts, Baybeats and Singapore Art Week, Hakiim wants to discover and uncover more fog in the sonic seas.

Hakiim goes by the artist personality “deførmed”, and seeks to make music on topics that are barely covered. In his musical voyage, songs such as “WADIO”, “SINGAPORE HOT” and “see how” have found their way into the underground community. He specialises in tongue-in-cheek wordplay, unapologetically using his local accent, and musically mainly draws influence from genres such as heavy bass electronic, metal, traditional Malay, videogame music and anisong. deførmed has reached international audiences in the cyberspace, having a good amount of his content go viral. At the current moment, he has 33.7k followers on Instagram and 18.5k followers on TikTok. deførmed is also involved in the local underground scene, occasionally performing at the regular shows. He opened for Machine Girl in November 2025.

- made music for film “Pace” by Dropkick screened in October 2026 - sound designer for “Hantu Kaki Kotor” by Teater Ekamatra staged in Oct 2026

He represented the orchestra in Japan during the Osaka World Expo in July 2025.

Hakiim graduated from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Distinction) taking the Audio Arts and Sciences course in 2024. In his 4 years of study, he supported the conservatory with audio recordings for the students and managing live sound for their events, such as the weekly Noon Recitals, Junior and Senior Recitals, and special events like Electone Concerts and shows by the Lorong Boys.

Hakiim has served the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s Music and Performing Arts Club as a pianist, arranger and an audio engineer. He has performed at many force level as well as ministry level events. He was involved in the music production of various promotional content such as tribute videos and a Hari Raya special.
